Workers/ volunteers are amazing! Helping my entire squad while we waited for our bags on a following flight. They get us fed and hydrated. Put on the football games to relax until our bags arrived. Check in process was super smooth. Appreciate everything you guys do, thank you!
We love this USO! It’s brand new on the inside and the volunteers here are exceptional. The “gear room” was adequate for plenty of luggage and secure. The snack bar and lounge area was top notch and had plenty of nice comfortable seats and good food options! Definitely would recommend stopping by here if you have a long layover or get to the airport early!
It is kind of confusing to find as they moved. It’s located in the circular building in the center of the airport.
USO is outside security but at least the building is unique making it easier to locate from a distance. Lots of construction you have to navigate to get to entrance. Once at the door be prepared to be drilled. Show your ID, answer questions about what service you are in, show your boarding passes and answer all questions about where you been and where your going. Seems excessive, but they must have their reasons for keeping you locked outside until they can verify everything. Facility inside is nice and clean. Staff seem friendly. Not sure if we would come back. Not a convenient location for travelers especially if you don't have the time to go thru TSA again between flights.
I understand it's for active duty, I'm a 10yr veteran (2 deployments), with my 9 yr old son looking for somewhere to sit down for 3.5hrs while we wait. Grandma comes out denying us entry because "the USO don't get enough money"... THE USO IS ALWAYS EMPTY. The only ppl who hang at the USO are boots waiting for layovers, only 2 people are ever in the USO at ANY GIVEN MOMENT, while there are 50 chairs, couches ect. She's acting like me sitting in a chair while I charge my phone is just impossible because I'm a Veteran and not active. She had the audacity to thank me for my service as I walked away. I type this as I sit on the concrete floor with my 9 yr old son waiting 3.5hrs.
This was the most family-friendly airport USO I've been to. We were greeted with such kindness from Vikki and escorted to the family area. They had 3 rooms for families to relax and unwind without bothering guests. I got carried away with the huge lite Brite thing on the wall while my little one watch cartoons. All in all it was a perfect spot while we waited to be picked up.
When is the USO ever available when you need it to be? Sadly, another let down for me and my dependent while in LAX. Remove the airport announcement if you don't plan to open your doors. You're not conveniently located and should consider this recommendation.
Great place, only entrance is from the south, lots of construction right now. Greeted at the door, masks required right now. Great space for eating, bathrooms, shower, private connection spaces, luggage area, gaming area (consoles are checked out at desk), family area, outside secured patio and movie area. Clean and secure. Quiet area was closed at the time (wanted to use that unfortunately).
It really sucks this is outside security. Then the rude staff. It was pouring raining and the old girl was checking ID outside instead of using the lobby. Of course she had an umbrella which only made it worse for me. And I travel light with a small back pack and carry on. But let's stand outside in the rain pouring off your umbrella onto me while you get your glasses to read my ID. I thought she was going to ask for my passport or drivers license next. This is the reason no one else wants to serve our country with dumbness like this. Maybe I'll be dry before for my flight. Must be training.
